The Azure Waters of Lake Titicaca
Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake (3,812 meters or 12,507 feet) and the second largest fresh water body in South America. Lake Titicaca was also the cultural hub of the Tiwanaku civilization (~300-1000 AD). According to the Tiwanaku creation myth, the most important God, Viracocha, ascended from the lake and created humans.
